He usually saves his beefs for other rappers; this time, 50 Cent is going after Oprah Winfrey.
In an interview with The Associated Press, 50 complained that Winfrey rarely invites rappers on her talk show: “I think she caters to older white women.”
“Oprah’s audience is my audience’s parents,” the 29-year-old rapper said. “So, I could care less about Oprah or her show.”
He’s not alone in his resentment toward the talk show host cum media mogul.
Rapper-actor Ludacris, aka Chris Bridges, said in the May issue of GQ magazine that Winfrey was “unfair” during a show he appeared on last October with co-stars from best-picture Oscar winner “Crash.”

I am currently working on Cebu Lifestyles. It is not done yet, but it is a portal and a tourist guide to Cebu and Mactan Island (in the Philippines). I am using Xoops for it. Hopefully, it is the right choice. The client wanted lots of blocks on the frontpage. Xoops is very capable of doing that and when the portal grows, there are a lot of modules available.
As of now, I am linking news articles from blocks in the frontpage. Do you think this is a good idea? I am open to suggestions. In the meantime, check Cebu Lifestyles for the preview.
Located 365 miles south of Manila, the main island of Cebu is a long, narrow slither of land, flanked on both sides by Tañon Strait and the Strait of Cebu. To its south-eastern tip is a small body of land that is Mactan Island. Cebu is comprised of hundreds of small islands, some of which are uninhabited which make them the targets of adventure-seeking tourists. Cebu is known for its narrow coastlines, limestone plateaus, and coastal plains, all characteristics of a typical tropical island. However, Cebu also has predominant rolling hills and rugged mountain ranges traversing the northern and southern lengths of the island. Cebu’s steep mountains reach over 1,000 meters but there is actually a substantial lack of adequate forest cover. Flat tracts of land can be found in towns of Bogo, San Remigio, Cebu, Medellin, and Daan Bantayan at the northern tip of the province.

Here is what I stumbled on today:
Lightbox JS V2.0:
Lightbox JS is a simple, unobtrusive script used to overlay images on the current page. It’s a snap to setup and works on all modern browsers.
I clicked through the samples and I was like WTF… It is cool enough to download and do tests on your own personal site *cough* if you find time. This will be probably one of the best stumbles for the night.
Christof Wagner:
A photography site. I appreciate all photographs. I think they are one of the best things in this world — next to beer
.
Viral Mind:
Wow! Nice site, nice art, nice background tune (too bad I could not turn it off though, I am listening to my Pearl Jam). It is a collection of wallpapers, artwork and other stuff by a guy named Mikael.
Well that is it for tonight. I shall post more sites. I hope you like them. Good night!

Neat. I want this… Imagine doing something like this:
“if (currRecNum < maxOffSet)” a VoiceCode user only needs to say: “if current record number is less than max offset then”
Here is the article for New Scientist:
A new speech recognition tool promises to let programmers write clean code without ever having to lay a finger on their keyboard.
The tool, called VoiceCode, has been developed to help programmers with repetitive strain injury (RSI). This is a common affliction for people who spend a lot of time using a keyboard or mouse and causes pain in muscles, tendons and nerves in a sufferer’s arms and back. Some estimates suggest 22% of all US computer programmers, or 100,000 people, suffer from the condition.
Standard speech recognition software can be used to control a computer but is usually of little help to programmers, says Alain Désilets of the National Research Council of Canada in Ottawa, one of the creators of VoiceCode. This is because each symbol and function and every syntactic peculiarity must be carefully spelled out.
VoiceCode lets a programmer dictate code in a more natural way, Désilets says, rapidly translating their utterances into awkward programming syntax. For example, in order to write “if (currRecNum < maxOffSet)” a VoiceCode user only needs to say: “if current record number is less than max offset then”. Traditional voice-recognition programs could require nearly 50 individual words to be dictated.

Steelwater, my officemate who happens to sit next to me has some of his music online.
He writes:
last april 5 to 7 i went home to our province and made some recordings on me and my spanish guitar using my creative muvo. its just me playing impromptu with whatever i can think of, later i decided to name them according to how they sounded. i uploaded them in my multiply account, the address is http://steelwater.multiply.com/music/item/22 or click here
the tracks are as follows (in alphabetical order) with a breif description of each track.
1. blues jam - 3:32secs of blues music, but its just me playing no other instrument or another guitar
2. fun - 7:48secs of music thats mostly major chord progressions sounding like some country sountrack, like the music you hear when you are just sitting and lazing around on a hot summery day under the tree and theres a breeze and everything is just making you feel relaxed and drowsy Read the rest of this entry »

LONDON (Reuters) - British actress Keira Knightley was voted the world’s sexiest woman in a magazine poll on Thursday, beating model Keeley Hazel and Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson into second and third place respectively.
The poll, which British magazine FHM said was based on two million votes, saw homegrown model and TV presenter Kelly Brook slip to 5th from first last year, while Angelina Jolie, expecting a baby in mid-May, came fourth.
Beyonce Knowles was the sexiest pop star at number seven and Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova the top sportswoman at number 56.
FHM said the poll was the only one of its kind voted for entirely by the British public.
I would have voted for her too
